Book Haul #4

HEY GUYS!
I haven't posted in a long time because I have been busy with school and work (this lady got two jobs!). I feel as if I have been neglecting you guys, but you have probably been invested in your own lives, like the rest of us. BUT, I thought I'd shared a book haul with you guys. I didn't buy these books in one purchase but I bought them within a week (because, guys, one book just isn't enough). Sense there are so many books, I've separated it into groups to better show which books I got. Because it is A LOT.
P.S. Most of these books are from a used bookstore because I'm cheap and broke and ain't found my pimp daddy yet.

I got all these from a used bookstore, besides Shadowcaster by Cinda Williams Chima. These are four series I am currently reading: Engineer Trilogy by K.J. Parker, The Hybrid Chronicles by Kat Zhang, Dublin Murder Squad by Tana French, and Shattered Realms by Cinda Williams Chima. I'm reading the last book from the Engineer Trilogy and Hybrid Chronicles. I'll be happy to finish the Engineer Trilogy because it's been a crazy ride of emotions. The Hybrid Chronicles is a series that was written years ago, but it's been a good ride and I'm excited to found out what happens at the end. Tana French's series is spectacular- Broken Harbor is the 4th and the past three have been soooo good. The first book to the Shattered Realm series, Flamecaster, was amazing, as I knew it would be, so I can't wait to read the next installment.

I started reading the Shifters series (two at the very top) and the Elemental Assassin series (the rest of the five). I've only read the first book from each series, but I enjoyed them so much that I went to the closest used bookstore and bought as many from each series that I could find. Shifters is only a series with six books while the Elemental Assassin series has at least 17 books (I know...WHOA). I found enough books from the Elemental Assassin series that I couldn't fit them all into the photo, so I was like, screw it! But I'll definitely be set for a long time as I finish that series.

I'm excited that I got these books. Each book is a new series I'll be starting. These books aren't very new, but I have been wanting to read them for a very long, and when I saw them at the used bookstore I was like YESSSS. So I can't wait; I'm pretty sure these books will rock my world!

These are the books I'm reading that are not part of a series. That is, besides A Wrinkle in Time, which I'm only reading because it's going to be a movie. I actually read it when I was younger, but I only remember about two small scenes, so I thought it would be nice to repurchase and reread. My Cousin Rachel is also going to be a movie, and it looks sort of creepy and fantastic that I must read it before I see the movie. I've been wanting to read Rash and Girl, Stolen for I don't know how long and I want to read Release because it's by Patrick Ness...that by itself is enough reason to read it. I'm very excited.

Stay tuned for more news on the fourth book in The Gifted Series. I promise updates are coming soon!

Book Haul #3

I was running low on books, so naturally, I went to a used bookstore to buy more. Money well spent.

You have no idea how excited I was to find Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs at a used bookstore and in PERFECT condition. It literally seemed brand new for HALF the price. I almost danced with joy. Since I finished the last book with it's semi-cliffhanger, I've been dying to read how the story ends. Can't wait to find out!

I also found The Undead Kama Sutra and Jailbait Zombie by Mario Acevedo. These are the third and fourth book to his series, Felix Gomez. Besides how awesome his covers are, the stories and characters are pretty amazing and addicting. The moment I saw these two books hanging out on the bookshelf, I didn't even think twice about picking them up. And with the price, it was basically a two for one.

I always tell myself to NOT start a new series until I finish reading my current series...I never listen to myself. Against my bookshelf's better judgement, I bought the two books I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1) by Barry Lyga and Leviathan (Leviathan, #1) by Scott Westerfeld. These series are kind of old, being released back in 2012 and 2009, but they've been on my Goodreads' To Read shelf since I've joined Goodreads. I Hunt Killers is about having a father who kills people-- Yes Please! And I've never read anything of Scott Westerfeld, but people seem to love him, so I want to join that bandwagon, not forgetting that there's also four other series of his I want to read. And the best thing about reading old series: all the books are already out, so you don't have to sit around waiting for the author to get to it!

Now that I have two jobs and college is starting back up, I may not have much time to read.....HAHAHAHA. Screw working and learning. Nothing is going to stop me from reading.

THE TOXIC THREAD IS OUT NOW

Hello all,
I am so excited to announce that my latest book, THE TOXIC THREAD, has been released.

If you enjoyed my first two books in The Gifted Series, you are going to looooove THE TOXIC THREAD.

Here is a synopsis:

Bradley Reynolds is a sixth generation duplicator; he has the ability to create replicas of himself and control their every action. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, he joins Hunter's Arrow, an exclusive task force of gifted soldiers created to fight the monstrous creatures the country would like to keep well-hidden. An apprentice for his grandfather, commander of Hunter's Arrow, Bradley will have to fight against his grandfather in a tournament to become the new commander. But discovering a treacherous lie leads Bradley into proving his worth in a more dangerous way. He and a group of gifted soldiers will enter the realm of the beasts they are trained to destroy. A realm no one has ever entered and lived to tell the tale. Bradley will be the first. That is, if he can make it out on the other side alive.

I had so much fun writing this book! I loved writing these characters and creating Bradley's world. There are also some characters from The Callous Catcher and The Ruthless Race who come back and have a scene or two as well!

Book Haul #2

Went to the Half Priced bookstore and found some books I wasn't expecting to discover.
I have always wanted to read The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer. Even though I hadn't been planning on purchasing the Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard anytime soon, I've heard very good reviews, so I was like, why not, it's six bucks. I purchased the Chilling Horror Short Stories on a whim because I really liked the cover and there are at least 20 stories to read from great writers. I picked up Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes because the price was so great and the story sounds pretty riveting! I'm very exciting about my finds! Can't wait to spend my summer reading them.

Almost Finished!

Sooooo The Toxic Thread has been written! It's the third novel in The Gifted Series, and it's currently going through formatting and editing right now. Hopefully it'll be finished soon as my goal is for it to come out around late summer & early fall.
I am so excited for you all to read it! It was a really fun book to write as there were no limitations to how deadly and crazy I could make Bradley Reynold's life. It's also one of the MOST important books in the whole series, as it involves a few previous characters from The Callous Catcher & The Ruthless Race as well as an introduction to the character who will have her own book as the fourth (and last) installment of The Gifted Series. And that scene, I'm telling you, you do not want to miss!

Stay tuned for more info and a release date that will be coming soon, I promise!

Update on The Toxic Thread!

I haven't posted in a while. The third novel in The Gifted Series, The Toxic Thread, has been finished. There is still a fair amount of revising and editing to complete, but it will definitely be published this year! Of course, sense I'm such a strange writer, I actually WRITE my stories and THEN TYPE them on my computer. It sounds like twice the work, but putting pen to paper is practically the only way I receive inspiration. A keyboard seems to only ooze writer's block.

Sense I write everything, now I have five composition notebooks of chapters I have to type up. I'm more than halfway through but my fingers are so sore. Wish me luck!
